As an expert in intralogistics, Dürkopp Fördertechnik (DFT) is looking forward to steady growth at its site in Bielefeld
Dürkopp Fördertechnik GmbH (DFT), a worldwide known company in the future-oriented intralogistics sector, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. Since the first mention as a separate department for conveyor technology in the production area of clothing manufacturers at Dürkopp in 1954, DFT has developed into an innovative and successful company in the industry. In 1995, Dürkopp Fördertechnik was founded as a separate GmbH. Since 2010, DFT has been part of the KNAPP headquartered in Hart near Graz/Austria and has tripled its number of employees since this change.
Today, DFT is an expert in highly automated warehousing, sequencing and sorting systems with a focus on e-commerce and clothing retail and delivers customized intralogistics solutions worldwide. The company’s customers include many well-known brands from the clothing industry such as: Next, Zalando, Inditex, Ernstings Family, Brax, Sportcheck, Decathlon, Best Secret and many more.
Based on the latest automation technology, the systems installed by DFT worldwide ensure a smooth internal logistics process for customers, from the order to the handover to the shipping service provider. Especially for our e-commerce customers in particular, the fast processing times for order handling are an essential market advantage that can be achieved with overhead conveyor technology.
DFT has been working with various customers for decades and is grateful for the long-standing loyalty and satisfaction of its partners, who repeatedly confirm their trust in the company through many follow-up orders. New business areas for DFT have developed in recent years in the parcel service provider, general retail, electronics retail and pharmaceutical wholesale sectors.
In 2019, DFT presented the AutoPocket®. This is a completely new combined storage, picking and sorting system based on overhead conveyor technology, which is the only one to enable automatic article dispensing at full speed. This creates new applications for automation in the entire loading and packing process, from the sorting of incoming goods to the compilation of order items at the packing station to the sorting of outgoing goods.
Today, DFT has over 450 employees who are characterized by their high level of qualification, motivation and passion. Despite strong company growth, the average length of service is an impressive twelve years, which demonstrates the strong loyalty and identification of the team with DFT. There is a family atmosphere and some families even have several generations or relatives working for the company. The #TeamDFT also includes members who have worked for the company from apprenticeship to retirement or who started with an apprenticeship and have not known any other companys.
As a constantly growing company, DFT offers attractive working conditions, further training opportunities and career prospects for qualified and motivated applicants.
“We are very proud of the history and success of Dürkopp Fördertechnik, which has stood for innovation, reliability, quality and economic success for 70 years. We would like to thank our employees, our customers and our partners for their trust and support. We look positively into the future and are convinced that together we can continue to grow and offer our customers real added value”, explains Sigurd Völker (Managing Director).
“DFT is more than just a company, it’s a big family that sticks together and works together. We value the loyalty, commitment and creativity of our employees, who are the heart of our company. We are delighted with the positive feedback and long-term relationships with our customers, who appreciate and recognize our work,” says Dirk Bockelmann (Managing Director Sales and Marketing).
