The perfect addition to the mail sorting process

By using the AutoPocket system, Viaposte has succeeded in increasing the sorting capacity of the classic horizontal goods sorters for large and heavy parcels, as a large number of smaller and bulky parcels are now transported and sorted via the AutoPocket.
The AutoPocket system makes optimum use of the available space in the logistics hall thanks to its vertical design with stacked levels. As a result, Viaposte can now sort a large number of packages fully automatically to a wide variety of destinations, while maintaining the same footprint.

Automatic or manual infeed

The pocket sorter system at Viaposte offers both several manual and one fully automatic infeeds into the AutoPocket.

With these two options, the logistics center is also well prepared for increasing shipping volumes.

Automatic address detection during the infeed

The system recognizes which parcel belongs where directly when the parcel is transferred to the AutoPocket system.

A scanner captures the label and matches it with the RFID chip of the AutoPocket in the system. This means that the system always knows in which pocket which item is currently located.

One system for different sorting requirements

With the AutoPocket, different sorting tasks can be handled simultaneously in one system. Viaposte uses the AutoPocket system for sorting mail items to both regional and national destinations.

National mail items are dropped directly into waiting gaylords. A gaylord contains items from a specified zip code area.

Regional Mail Sorting on a second platform

Regional parcels are temporarily stored in a dynamic buffer. As soon as all parcels for a delivery tour are available in the buffer, they are removed from the buffer and transported fully automatically to the target area, where they are dropped into the waiting container. The fully loaded target container is automatically transported to the packing for delivery.
