DFT is fully integrating its Gronau site into the company’s organizational structure, further strengthening its expertise in sorting technology.

With the integration of ISS Automation GmbH at the Gronau location, Dürkopp Fördertechnik continues to expand its capabilities in the sorter business. Bringing these competencies together creates closer alignment across the organization and establishes a solid foundation for future projects.
Background on the Development of ISS Automation GmbH
In 2017, KNAPP acquired a majority stake in ISS Automation GmbH to build dedicated control system expertise for flat goods sorters within group-wide projects. While sorter hardware was sourced within the group, ISS Automation’s core strength lay in advancing and integrating these systems—particularly in PLC programming and in combining actuators and sensor technology into high-performance solutions.
The former sole shareholder, Paul Mess, remained involved as Managing Director with a minority stake. In 2024, KNAPP acquired 100% of the company’s shares, and Christoph Ludwig was appointed as the new Managing Director of ISS Automation GmbH.
On February 1, 2025, Dirk Bockelmann joined as an additional Managing Director and initiated the integration into DFT. The integration phase ran from April 1 to September 30, 2025, culminating in the organizational merger of ISS Automation GmbH into Dürkopp Fördertechnik GmbH. On December 12, 2025, ISS Automation GmbH was officially removed from the commercial register.

With the Gronau team, DFT strengthens its capabilities with specialized expertise in sorting technology—particularly in control systems and system integration. This enhances existing structures and supports the efficient and successful execution of future sorter projects.
Clear Direction for Future Development
DFT is committed to securing the Gronau site in the long term and systematically expanding its capabilities. Close collaboration and a shared strategic direction create a strong foundation for continued growth and successful customer projects.
